Fish-Shaped Safety Surfacing Ensures Safe Play
The newly redesigned Erlenweg playground in Heidelberg's Rohrbach district offers children a wide range of opportunities for active play and movement. As part of the refurbishment, the impact protection area was also upgraded. A fish-shaped REGUPOL playfix safety surface provides reliable fall protection while creating a distinctive visual feature within the playground.
A Variety of Play Equipment for Active and Social Play
The redesigned playground combines several popular play features to create a diverse play environment. Children can enjoy a slide, a double seesaw, a basket swing, and an in-ground trampoline. This combination promotes motor skills, coordination, and social interaction while offering different play zones that encourage exploration and imaginative play together.
Eye-Catching Design: A Fish-Shaped Play Area
One of the playground's standout features is its fish-shaped play area, giving the site a unique and easily recognizable identity. Thematic designs like this help children orient themselves within the playground while enhancing the overall play experience. At the same time, they structure the space and combine creative design with the functional requirements of modern playgrounds.
Safe Surfacing for Heavily Used Playgrounds
Playgrounds with a variety of play equipment require reliable impact protection to ensure children's safety. A high-quality safety surface reduces the risk of injury from falls while increasing overall comfort and durability.
As part of the refurbishment, a REGUPOL impact protection system was installed. The project used REGUPOL playfix FX in a red EPDM finish, specifically developed for playground applications. In total, approximately 92 m² of safety surfacing was installed.
The surface is designed for a critical fall height of up to 1.50 metres and has been tested in accordance with DIN EN 1177. It therefore meets the relevant playground safety standards and provides reliable shock absorption for everyday use.
